Nick Maybury is an Australian International Musician born in Sydney November 16 1982 (years active 1998-currently)
Elementary education from Manly West Public School 1988-1994
Higher school education at Balgowlah Boys High School 1995-2000 in Sydney the high school years proved later to be a wealth of preliminary knowledge, experience, touring and performing in Australia nationally with the school music programs led by head music teacher John Stone. Before completing school was a working Musician by age 16 and had recorded an EP with his First band self titled indie release “August” which had a single placed in “Ocean and Earth” surfing video 1998.
Nick’s local success in Sydney at a young age working in music not only as a Musician but also in demand as an Instructor of his field in the community, offered private tuition at music stores “Neil’s Guitars ‘n’ Amps” and “Harbour Music” also including private and public institutions such as Sydney Vocal Arts Centre and Mackellar Girls High School and homes of students.
Completed high school in 2000 with a reputation as a hired professional musician in World, Pop, Dance and Rock music all over Sydney where he continued to hone his craft.
Furthered his career studying Contemporary Jazz at Sydney University’s Conservatorium of Music undergraduate program 2004 in preparation for college in America .
Nick auditioned internationally in Malaysia in front of faculty panel also submitted recordings and gained 2 scholarships to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA USA.
2005 Joined the Gapp Project led by his teacher and instructor from the Conservatorium recorded guitar on 3 independent releases

the Gapp Project has Local community radio play live performances at “The Manly Jazz festival” and international performances touring New Zealand and playing the “Raglan Jazz festival”.

First commercial release on “Creative Vibes” Label recording for Earl Gray as a lead guitarist on “Long Hot Summer Night” EP released 12/07/2005
and Lead Guitarist also later on the Debut album “Earl Gray” released “Rhythm Safari” LP released on “Rhythm Safari” 10/11/2007.

Was called in to audition for the Rock Band “MINK” which led to further National and International success as a key leading band member, songwriter, performer and recording artist this was the signing of the first record deal and publishing deal
MINK debut album was recorded in NYC and Nth CA with Producers Chris Shaw and Sylvia Massey toured extensively in Australia with Leading Australian rock legend “Jimmy Barnes” and “Universal USA” act “Angels and Airwaves”
MINK relocated to NYC and were based there for the album cycle and released self titled debut album “MINK” August 28 2007 on “Grey Nurse/ Universal Fontana” the band relentlessly toured the United States,Canada and Japan playing major cutting edge prestigious festivals such as SXSW, Lollapalooza and Fuji Rock. the band released 2 singles “Talk To Me’ and “Dematerialise” Mink has music licensed in International TV, Radio, film and Digital formats, received commercial success on the cover image for “Rock band 2” video game
MINK worked with major legendary platinum selling rock artists such as Saliva, KISS and Perry Farrell
Perry Farrell recruited Nick for his modern approach to rock music and dance music, for the album of the Legendary, Iconic, Alternative rock band “Jane’s Addiction”.”Great escape Artist” helped develop the opening track “Underground”

Nick Participated Internationally touring the USA and Canada playing cutting edge major prestigious festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra fest, Decadence, and SXSW released 2 singles “Nasty Little Perv” Nov 3 2009 CBS records for the TV show NCIS and was also featured in the music video and ‘Honey If you love him that’s all that matters” on Andy Bell’s “Non Stop” album released June 8 2010, Nick was featured as lead guitarist in the music video for grammy nominated compilation hit single “Go all the way (Into Twilight)” released on “Atlantic” Nov 4 2008 for the Twilight movie soundtrack.
With Perry Farrell Nick was exposed to A list rock Icons and performed live onstage with Artists such as Tom Morrello, Debbie Harry, Billy Idol, Matt Sorum.

In 2009 joined forces with Bowery Beasts to take on a crucial role as lead guitarist/songwriter for the Group along side Marion Belle. The group released the single “Baby Sister” June 26, 2010 and the Debut EP “Heavy You” July 5,2011 on ‘Black Creem Records” The group has a cult buzz following in Los Angeles and is continuing growth with support from Kroq radio host Steve Jones from the “Sex Pistols” with support in major press magazines such as 944 and various digital media, the band is growing infectiously and is continuing to build its brand preceding the release of the full length LP.
World class experience gained him work with Rock Veteran Matt Sorum (The Cult, Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver) performed live Matt Sorum’s Darling Stillettos in Los Angeles, NYC, Miami, Chicago and South Dakota, performed onstage with Dave Navaro and Gilby Clarke (Guns n Roses). Worked on recording sessions with Grammy award winning Mark Hudson (Aerosmith, Hanson, Ozzy Osbourne) Matt provided an introduction to “Camp Freddy” the celebrity super group, Nick performed live with Camp Freddy replacing Dave Navaro at The John Varvatos 10 year anniversary for fashion week Sep/11/ 2010 playing onstage with Alice Cooper, ZZ Top and Wayne Kramer MC5 which has been one of the exciting highlights of his career,
Matt Sorum introduced me to Cherie Currie and we put together a band opened for Joan Jett in Orange County at the Pacific Amphitheatre which proved to be success and then we recorded and produced her album for Blackheart records featured as a leading role guitar/ songwriter alongside
A list rock heavy weights Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Slash (Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver Michael Jackson), Duff (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver), Juliette Lewis and The Veronicas. With Matt Sorum Nick worked with Relativity Music Group for the release of “Little Red Riding Hood” March /08/2011 sung by the starring actress Amanda Seyfried in conjunction with the release of the film which was released March/11/2011
Performed live as a special guest with successful Australian artists “Angus and Julia Stone” son and daughter of High school teacher John Stone at the Hollywood forever cemetery May 26, 2010 and the Stronghold in Venice May 27, 2010 “A significant event of gratitude towards my high school years spent with their father John Stone as my first musical mentor”
Shortly after an international South Korean tour with 70s teen idol Leif Garret Nick was contacted by Hybrid Australian / USA act “Jump Jump Dance Dance” signed to “Etc. Etc./Ministry Of Sound” to play lead guitar and to perform live for the west coast audiences in Los Angeles and San Diego, Nick’s image, understanding of popular music and electronic technology creates the possibilities to work with groups like Jump Jump Dance Dance and also appeared in the music video released by Ministry of sound Au May/08/2011 promoting the release of single “2.0” June 3, 2011.
A natural talent and understanding for music along with a professional attitude was recognised in early stages of Nick’s international development in 2007 at the Baked Potato, Studio City California, Nick bonded with California institute of the Arts graduate Dustin Boyer who is known for his works with John Cale of (The Velvet Underground) witnessed the talent, 3 years later Boyer contacted Nick and introduced him to Grammy Award winning Warner Brothers recording artist/ songwriter Michelle Branch. Nick stood out among other candidates in auditioning process and was shortly hired after for the Michelle Branch project in support of the single “Loud Music” released June 10, 2011 which led to a successful national wide major promo tour with the Goo Goo Dolls summer 2011. Nick is featured in the music video “loud Music” released Aug 11, 2011 recently October of 2011 Michelle and Nick toured to Japan to support the release of “Loud Music” for Warner Brothers Japan.
